Business laptop for self-managed OS

The DELL Latitude E5570 is a 15.6 inch FHD laptop powered by an Intel Core i7-6600U dual-core processor running at 2.60 GHz with a turbo frequency of 3.40 GHz. It ships with 8GB of DDR3 memory and a new 128GB SATA SSD. No operating system is installed, so the buyer must provide and install their own Windows or alternative OS.

Memory headroom and storage limits

The 8GB of installed DDR3 memory uses one of two available slots and can be expanded to a maximum of 16 GB. The 128GB 2.5 inch SATA SSD offers fast boot and application load times for a core set of programs and files. Users with large media libraries or multiple virtual machines will need external or additional internal storage.

Chassis practicality and expansion

The black non-touch 15.6 inch chassis houses a 1920 x 1080 display driven by Intel HD Graphics 520. Two memory slots are accessible for straightforward upgrades up to the 16 GB limit. A 2.5 inch SATA bay is occupied by the included SSD; adding a second drive would require a caddy or alternative mounting not mentioned in the specifications.

Questions about this item

Will the 2.5" SATA SSD work in a laptop that only has an M.2 slot?

The 128GB SSD uses a 2.5" SATA form factor, so it needs a 2.5" drive bay; it will not fit an M.2-only slot.

How can I verify the Intel HD Graphics 520 is active after installing an OS?

Open Device Manager or the Intel Graphics Control Panel and confirm the adapter shows Intel HD Graphics 520 with the correct 1920 x 1080 resolution.

Does the package include an operating-system licence or recovery media?

The laptop ships with no operating system and no recovery media; you must supply your own Windows or Linux licence and installation media.
