Purpose and audience

This Dell Latitude E5570 is a 15.6 inch HD laptop built around a dual-core Intel Core i7-6600U processor with a 3.40 GHz turbo frequency. It ships with 16 GB of DDR3 memory and a new 500 GB NVMe SSD, but no operating system is installed. The integrated Intel HD Graphics 520 drives the 1366 x 768 non-touch display.

Who it suits and who it does not

The system suits buyers who want a compact business chassis with a pre-installed NVMe drive and the maximum 16 GB of memory this model supports. It does not suit users who need a touchscreen, a higher-resolution panel, discrete graphics, or an operating system ready to use out of the box.

Deciding specification

The 1366 x 768 HD resolution on a 15.6 inch screen is the single detail that determines whether this display meets your clarity requirements for text-heavy work or external-monitor docking.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 16GB DDR3 or look for a model with more memory?

The system ships with 16GB DDR3 and the motherboard supports a maximum of 16GB, so no larger upgrade is possible.

What does the 2.60 GHz base and 3.40 GHz turbo mean for everyday work?

The dual-core i7-6600U runs at 2.60 GHz normally and can boost to 3.40 GHz on short bursts, giving snappy office and web performance.

The drive is listed as 500GB M.2 NVMe PCIe — what interface does it actually use?

It uses the NVMe protocol over a PCIe M.2 slot, delivering much faster data transfer than older AHCI drives.
