Product identity

The Dell Latitude E6430 is a 14.0-inch business laptop built for professionals who need a complete Windows 10 Pro system ready to work. It arrives new with a quad-core Intel Core i7-3720QM processor at 2.90 GHz, 16 GB of DDR3 memory and a 128 GB 2.5-inch SSD. The HD LED anti-glare display, DVD-RW drive, HDMI output, webcam, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and gigabit Ethernet are all integrated.

Deciding specification

The 128 GB SSD is the single figure that determines whether this unit fits the workload; it holds the operating system and a modest set of applications but leaves little room for large media libraries or multiple virtual machines. Buyers who need more storage should look at larger-capacity configurations.

Thermals noise and power

The integrated Intel HD Graphics 4000 shares system memory and draws modest power, so the cooling fan runs quietly during typical office tasks such as document editing, web browsing and video playback. Under sustained multi-core loads the fan becomes audible but remains within normal limits for a 14-inch chassis.
