Compact business laptop for mobile professionals

The Dell Latitude E7250 is a 12.5 inch non-touch laptop built around a dual-core Intel Core i5-5300U processor running at 2.3 GHz. It ships with 16 GB of DDR3 memory and a 256 GB mSATA SSD. Windows 10 Pro x64 is pre-installed. The 1366 x 768 display, integrated Intel HD Graphics 5500, HDMI and mini DisplayPort outputs suit office work and presentations on the move.

Sustained workload behaviour

Under continuous load the ultra-low-voltage i5-5300U maintains clocks within its thermal envelope, so performance steadies rather than spikes. The 3 MB L2 cache helps keep frequent data close to the cores during long document or spreadsheet sessions. Integrated graphics share system memory, so extended video playback or multiple external displays draw from the same 16 GB pool without a dedicated frame buffer.

Upgrade context and limits

This unit replaces an older 4 GB or 8 GB ultrabook with a mechanical drive, delivering faster boot and application launch from the 256 GB SSD. The memory is fixed at 16 GB, so buyers who need more RAM for virtual machines or large datasets cannot expand it. The 1366 x 768 panel also limits multitasking screen real estate compared with higher-resolution alternatives.
