Built for mobile professionals

The Dell Latitude E7250 is a 12.5 inch laptop powered by a dual-core Intel Core i5-5300U running at 2.3 GHz. It ships with 8 GB of DDR3 memory and a 256 GB mSATA SSD. Windows 10 Home is pre-installed on the 1366 by 768 non-touch display.

Ports and peripherals for presenters

Three USB 3.0 ports, full-size HDMI and a mini DisplayPort handle external monitors or projectors without adapters. Gigabit Ethernet and 802.11n wireless keep network access steady. An integrated SD card reader and 720p webcam complete the connectivity set.

Suits frequent travellers needing legacy ports

The compact chassis and long battery life serve consultants moving between meeting rooms. Buyers who want a touchscreen, higher resolution panel or discrete graphics should look elsewhere. The 16 GB memory ceiling also limits heavy virtualisation workloads.

Questions about this item

Can the 256 GB mSATA SSD be swapped for a larger drive later?

Yes, the 256 GB mSATA SSD is removable and can be replaced with another mSATA module.

What limits sustained performance first — the dual-core i5-5300U or the 8 GB DDR3 memory?

The dual-core i5-5300U at 2.3 GHz reaches its thermal ceiling before the 8 GB DDR3 becomes a bottleneck.

How loud and hot does the E7250 get when running all day on the integrated HD Graphics 5500?

The fan stays audible but low; the chassis warms to a noticeable level after several hours of continuous load.
