Business ultrabook with 14 inch FHD touchscreen

The Dell Latitude E7440 is a 14 inch touchscreen ultrabook built for mobile professionals. It runs Windows 10 Pro on an Intel Core i5-4300U dual-core processor at 1.9 GHz with 8 GB DDR3 memory. Integrated Intel HD Graphics 4400 drives the 1920 x 1080 LED display.

Replaces older non-touch business notebooks

This model upgrades from earlier Latitude units that lacked touch input and solid-state storage. The 2.5 inch 256 GB SATA SSD accelerates boot and application load times compared to mechanical drives. The jump is worth it for users who need responsive multitasking and direct screen interaction in a 14 inch form factor.

Limited by integrated graphics and DDR3 platform

Intel HD Graphics 4400 suits office applications and media playback but not 3D workloads or modern gaming. The DDR3 memory architecture and dual-core U-series CPU constrain performance in sustained heavy tasks. Buyers who need discrete graphics, higher core counts or faster memory bandwidth should consider other product lines.

Questions about this item

What are the physical dimensions of the 2.5 inch 256 GB SATA SSD bay in this 14 inch laptop?

The laptop uses a standard 2.5 inch 256 GB SATA solid state drive that fits the internal drive bay designed for this form factor.

How is the 8 GB DDR3 memory installed across the two slots, and what step do people often miss?

The 8 GB DDR3 memory is configured as 4 GB x 2 across both available slots, so upgrading requires replacing both modules rather than adding to an empty slot.

When will the internal CMOS battery need replacement on this Dell Latitude 7000 series model?

The CMOS battery typically lasts several years; replace it when the system loses date and time settings after being powered off.
