Dell Latitude E7450 14" FHD laptop

The Dell Latitude E7450 is a 14.0-inch Full HD laptop built around an Intel Core i5-5300U dual-core processor. It runs at a base frequency of 2.30 GHz and can reach a turbo frequency of 2.90 GHz. The system includes 16GB of DDR3 memory and a new 1TB 2.5-inch SATA SSD. It ships with Microsoft Windows 10 Home 64-bit installed.

Integration into a workspace

The 14.0-inch FHD display with 1920 x 1080 resolution provides a clear viewing area for documents and web pages. Intel HD Graphics 5500 handles integrated video output without a discrete graphics card. Two memory slots are present, though the maximum supported memory of 16GB is already populated. The 2.5-inch SATA SSD bay is occupied by the included 1TB drive, leaving no internal 2.5-inch slot free for additional storage.

Suitability and alternatives

This unit suits professionals who need a portable Windows 10 laptop with a Full HD screen and ample solid-state storage for everyday office tasks. Buyers who require a touchscreen, a discrete GPU for heavier graphical workloads, or the ability to expand memory beyond 16GB should consider other models. Users dependent on newer operating system features out of the box may prefer a device shipping with Windows 11.

Questions about this item

How long can the Intel Core i5-5300U sustain its 2.90 GHz turbo before it drops back?

The processor runs at a 2.30 GHz base clock and can reach 2.90 GHz turbo, but the duration depends on thermal headroom inside the 14.0 inch chassis.

What is the fan noise and surface temperature like after hours of continuous load?

The dual-core 5th generation CPU and Intel HD Graphics 5500 share a compact cooling system, so sustained work raises fan speed and keyboard deck warmth.

Does the 1TB SATA SSD require a caddy or bracket that is not included?

The drive fits the internal 2.5 inch SATA bay directly; no extra mounting hardware is needed.
