Target ultraportable user

The Dell Latitude E7450 is a 14.0-inch FHD laptop powered by an Intel Core i5-5300U dual-core processor running at 2.30 GHz with a 2.90 GHz turbo frequency. It comes with 8GB of DDR3 memory and a new 500GB 2.5-inch SATA SSD. Windows 10 Pro 64-bit is pre-installed on this new unit.

Buyers needing greater memory capacity

This configuration suits mobile professionals who value a 14.0-inch 1920 x 1080 non-touch display and integrated Intel HD Graphics 5500 for everyday productivity. The two memory slots support a maximum of 16 GB, so the installed 8GB can be doubled. Buyers who need more than 16 GB of system memory or dedicated graphics performance should consider other options.

Storage interface constraint

The single specification that decides fit is the 500GB SSD using a 2.5-inch SATA connection. This drive format determines upgrade paths and replacement compatibility. Verify that your intended use matches this interface before purchase.

Questions about this item

How does the 2.30 GHz base and 2.90 GHz turbo clock feel in everyday multitasking?

The dual-core i5-5300U runs at 2.30 GHz with a 2.90 GHz turbo, so office apps and web tabs stay responsive while the 8 GB DDR3 handles the working set.

What does the 2.5" SATA interface mean for the 500 GB SSD speed?

The 500 GB drive uses a 2.5" SATA connection, limiting sequential throughput to the SATA bus rather than faster PCIe lanes.

Can I add more memory later and how many slots are free?

Two DDR3 slots exist with a 16 GB ceiling; the current 8 GB occupies one slot, leaving the second available for an upgrade.
