14-inch HD business laptop

The Dell Latitude E7450 is a 14.0-inch HD laptop built around a dual-core Intel Core i5-5300U processor running at 2.30 GHz with a turbo frequency of 2.90 GHz. It ships with 8GB of DDR3 memory and a new 500GB 2.5-inch SATA SSD. No operating system is installed, so the buyer must provide their own.

8GB DDR3 and 500GB SSD capacity

The system supports up to 16 GB of memory across two slots, giving headroom for a future upgrade from the fitted 8GB. The 500GB solid-state drive handles the operating system and everyday files, while the SATA interface limits peak transfer speeds compared to newer standards. Heavy media libraries or large project archives will require external storage.

Latitude E7450 chassis and connectivity

The black Latitude chassis includes a non-touch 1366 x 768 display, integrated Intel HD Graphics 5500, a webcam and Bluetooth. The 2.5-inch SATA drive bay allows straightforward storage swaps, and the two memory slots are accessible for upgrades. Buyers needing a pre-installed OS, a higher-resolution panel or discrete graphics should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

Will the 2.5" SATA SSD fit alongside an older mechanical drive I keep?

The 500 GB SSD uses a 2.5" SATA slot; the chassis has only one such bay so a second mechanical drive cannot be added internally.

How can I confirm the Core i5-5300U is running at its 2.90 GHz turbo after I install an OS?

Open Task Manager or a hardware monitor and watch the CPU frequency climb to 2.90 GHz under load.

Does the box include a power adapter or must I buy one separately?

The laptop ships with a Dell AC adapter; no extra purchase is required to power it.
