Upgrade from slower storage and less memory

Replacing a traditional hard drive with the 1TB SSD and moving to 16GB memory cuts boot time and keeps many browser tabs responsive. The jump is worth it when the current machine stalls on large spreadsheets or frequent multitasking.

Simple drive and memory access

The bottom cover removes with standard screws so the SSD and memory slots are reachable in minutes. Common issues include stripped screw heads and forgetting to reconnect the battery ribbon before reassembly.

Questions about this item

What screw pattern and thickness does the 14.0 inch chassis use for the bottom cover?

The 14.0 inch chassis uses standard Torx screws around the perimeter and two under the rear rubber feet; remove all screws before prying the cover.

How do I open the case to reach the memory slots without breaking the clips?

After removing every bottom screw, start prying at the front edge near the trackpad and work slowly toward the hinge side to release the plastic clips.

When will the 16GB of soldered memory need replacement?

The 16GB is soldered to the board and cannot be replaced; plan for a full system upgrade when performance no longer meets your workload.
