Dell Latitude E7450 compact business laptop

The Dell Latitude E7450 is a 14.0-inch laptop built for professionals who need a portable Windows 10 Pro machine. It runs on an Intel Core i5-5300U dual-core processor at 2.30 GHz with 8 GB of memory and a 256 GB SSD. The 1366 x 768 non-touch display keeps the chassis light for daily carry.

Thermals and power in normal use

The integrated graphics and low-voltage processor keep heat output modest during typical office workloads. Fan noise stays low when browsing, editing documents or running video calls. The 256 GB solid-state drive has no moving parts, so it adds neither heat nor mechanical sound. Power draw remains gentle on the battery during standard productivity tasks.

Build integration and expandability

One HDMI port connects an external monitor for a dual-screen setup. Three USB ports handle a mouse, keyboard and backup drive at the same time. Bluetooth 4.0 pairs wireless headsets or peripherals without a dongle. The 64-bit Windows 10 Pro installation is ready for domain join and encryption. Buyers who need a backlit keyboard, touchscreen input or a second storage drive should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

How do I install the 256GB SSD in the Latitude E7450 and what step is often missed?

The SSD is already fitted. The step people miss is checking the BIOS boot order after a clean Windows 10 Pro 64-Bit install so the 256GB drive is first.

What maintenance will the 8GB memory and Bluetooth 4.0 module need later?

The 8GB memory is soldered and needs no replacement. Bluetooth 4.0 requires only driver updates through Windows 10 Pro; no hardware service is expected.

Which limit appears first on the 14.0" 1366 x 768 panel during sustained use?

The 1366 x 768 resolution limits workspace before the integrated graphics or dual-core i5-5300U throttle during long sessions.
