Business laptop for office work

The Dell Latitude E7450 is a 14-inch laptop built for everyday business tasks. It runs Windows 10 Home 64-bit on an Intel Core i7 5th Gen processor at 2.90 GHz with 8GB of DDR3 memory. The 128GB SSD provides fast boot and application load times for typical office workflows.

Thermals noise and power in daily use

The non-touch 14.0-inch display and solid-state storage keep heat and noise low during normal productivity work. With 8GB of installed DDR3 across two memory slots, the system handles multitasking without excessive fan activity. Wireless 802.11a/b/g and Bluetooth connectivity add minimal power draw.

Memory ceiling decides suitability

Maximum supported memory is 16GB across two slots, so the 8GB installed today can be doubled if workloads grow. Buyers who need more storage than 128GB or require a newer operating system than Windows 10 Home should consider other options. The single USB port noted in specifications may limit peripheral connections.

Questions about this item

How do I install more memory in the E7450 and which slot do people forget?

The laptop has two DDR3 slots supporting up to 16GB total; the lower slot under the keyboard is often missed after the bottom panel is removed.

What component will need replacement first as the 128GB SSD ages?

The 128GB SSD has a finite write endurance; once its reserved blocks are exhausted the drive must be swapped for a new one.

What thermal limit appears first when the i7 2.90 GHz runs sustained loads?

The dual-core 5th Gen i7 hits its temperature ceiling quickly, causing the fan to spin at maximum and the processor to throttle clock speeds.
