Built for mobile professionals

The Dell Latitude E7450 is a 14.0 inch business laptop powered by an Intel Core i5-5300U dual-core processor running at 2.3 GHz. It ships with 16GB of DDR3 memory and a 256GB SSD, running Windows 10 Pro. Integrated Intel HD Graphics 5500 drives the 1366 x 768 non-touch display, while HDMI and mini DisplayPort handle external monitors.

Suits travellers needing legacy ports

This unit fits users who want a lightweight chassis with three USB 3.0 ports, Gigabit Ethernet, an SD card reader and a built-in webcam for video calls. The 802.11 a/b/g/n wireless covers standard office and hotel networks. Buyers who need a touchscreen, a higher resolution panel, discrete graphics or more than 16GB of memory should look elsewhere.

Steady output on long sessions

The low-power Broadwell core and integrated graphics keep thermal output modest, so the cooling system maintains consistent clock speeds during extended document, web or video workloads. Battery life benefits from the efficient processor and SSD storage, supporting a full day of light productivity away from a socket. Sustained heavy compute tasks will eventually hit the dual-core ceiling, but typical office use remains smooth.

Questions about this item

Does the laptop need an external monitor for the Intel HD Graphics 5500 to work?

No. The built-in 14.0 inch 1366 x 768 non-touch screen is driven by the Intel HD Graphics 5500 and works without any extra display.

Can the single HDMI port drive a 1080p projector while the internal 1366 x 768 panel stays active?

Yes. The HDMI port and the mini DisplayPort can both output simultaneously, so a 1080p projector can mirror or extend the desktop alongside the internal screen.

How can I confirm the 16GB DDR3 memory is recognised after first boot?

Open Task Manager, select the Performance tab, and verify that 16 GB appears as the total installed memory.
