Purpose-built ultraportable

The Dell Latitude E7450-P40G is a 14.0 inch business laptop powered by an Intel Core i5-5300U dual-core processor running at 2.3GHz. It ships with 8GB of memory, a 256GB solid-state drive and Windows 10 Pro already installed. The non-touch display offers a 1366 x 768 resolution driven by integrated Intel HD Graphics 5500. It targets professionals who need a lightweight, ready-to-work machine without extra configuration.

Bundled essentials

An AC adapter is included so the system can be powered immediately. Connectivity covers three USB 3.0 ports and an HDMI output for external displays. Wireless networking uses 802.11a/b/g/n with Bluetooth support built in. No optical drive is fitted, keeping the chassis thin and the weight low for daily carry.

Capacity and limits

The 256GB SSD provides fast boot and application load times for typical office suites and cloud workloads. 8GB of memory handles multitasking with browser tabs, email and document editing comfortably. The dual-core CPU and integrated graphics run out of headroom with heavy video editing, 3D rendering or modern gaming titles. Buyers who want more storage or discrete graphics should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

Can the 256GB SSD be swapped for a larger drive later?

The 256GB SSD is removable, so it can be replaced with a higher-capacity drive when more storage is needed.

What limits performance first during a long compile or render on the Core i5-5300U?

The dual-core 2.3GHz processor reaches its thermal ceiling before the 8GB memory fills, so sustained heavy loads throttle the CPU.

How loud and hot does the 14.0" UltraBook get when left running all day?

The fan stays audible but low under light work; under continuous load the chassis warms noticeably around the keyboard deck and the fan spins up to a steady hum.
