Dell Latitude E7470 14.0" HD laptop

This Dell Latitude E7470 is a 14.0-inch HD laptop built around an Intel Core i7-6650U dual-core processor running at 2.20 GHz with a turbo frequency of 3.40 GHz. It comes with 16 GB of DDR4 memory and a new 1 TB 2.5-inch SATA SSD. Windows 10 Pro 64-bit is pre-installed for immediate use.

Installation and common issues

The system arrives fully assembled with the operating system already configured so no internal installation is required. Memory is soldered to the board and the single 2.5-inch drive bay is occupied by the included SSD leaving no room for a second internal drive. Buyers who want more storage must rely on external solutions.

Capacity and headroom

The 1 TB SSD provides ample space for the operating system, applications and a large document library. Sixteen gigabytes of RAM handles typical office multitasking and light creative workloads without paging. The integrated Intel Iris Graphics 540 and 1366 x 768 display limit performance in modern 3D titles and colour-critical work.

Questions about this item

How can I verify the Intel Core i7-6650U is running at its 3.40 GHz turbo frequency after setup?

Open Task Manager in Windows 10 Pro, select the Performance tab, choose CPU, and watch the live clock speed rise to 3.40 GHz under load.

What comes in the box and what must I purchase separately for the 1TB SSD 2.5" SATA drive?

The laptop includes the 1TB SSD 2.5" SATA already installed with Windows 10 Pro 64-bit; no extra storage parts are required.

Should I choose the 16GB DDR4 configuration or add more memory later?

The system has two slots but maxes out at 16 GB, so the factory 16GB DDR4 is already the highest supported capacity.
