Latitude E7470 14 FHD laptop

The Dell Latitude E7470 is a 14.0 inch FHD laptop powered by an Intel Core i5-6200U dual-core processor with a base speed of 2.30 GHz and turbo up to 2.80 GHz. It comes with 16GB DDR4 memory and a new 2TB M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD. The system ships without an operating system, so the buyer must supply their own Windows or Linux installation. Integrated Intel HD Graphics 520 handles the 1920 x 1080 display.

Memory and storage limits

The 16GB DDR4 configuration fills both memory slots and reaches the maximum supported capacity of 16 GB, leaving no room for further RAM upgrades. The 2TB NVMe SSD occupies the M.2 slot and provides the primary storage volume, with no 2.5 inch drive bay mentioned in the specifications. This layout suits users who need a large, fast single drive and do not plan to expand memory later.

No operating system included

Because no operating system is pre-installed, the purchaser must obtain a licence and installation media for Windows or another OS before the laptop can be used. The bundled webcam and Bluetooth hardware will function once the appropriate drivers are loaded by the chosen operating system. A 365 day parts and labour warranty covers the hardware from the date of purchase.

Questions about this item

Will the i5-6200U throttle at its 2.80 GHz turbo under long workloads?

The dual-core i5-6200U runs at a 2.30 GHz base and can reach 2.80 GHz turbo, but sustained loads will be limited by the 14.0" chassis cooling capacity.

How loud and hot does the E7470 get when the 16 GB DDR4 and 2 TB NVMe drive run all day?

With only integrated Intel HD Graphics 520 and no discrete GPU, the system stays relatively cool and quiet during typical office tasks, though fan noise rises under continuous heavy CPU use.

Do I need to buy an operating system licence before this Latitude 7470 will boot?

Yes, the unit ships with no operating system installed, so you must provide your own Windows or Linux licence and installation media.
