Ready-to-deploy business laptop

The Dell Latitude E7470 is a 14.0-inch FHD laptop powered by an Intel Core i5-6200U dual-core processor with a turbo frequency of 2.80 GHz. It ships with 16GB DDR4 memory and a new 1TB M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD. No operating system is installed so the buyer can load a preferred Windows or Linux image.

Build integration and expansion

The system uses two memory slots and already reaches the 16 GB maximum supported capacity, leaving no room for RAM upgrades. Storage is handled by a single M.2 NVMe drive bay occupied by the included 1 TB drive. Integrated Intel HD Graphics 520 drives the 1920 x 1080 non-touch panel without a discrete GPU slot.

Sustained workload behaviour

The dual-core U-series CPU and integrated graphics share a compact thermal envelope designed for typical office multitasking rather than continuous heavy compute. Under prolonged load the processor will throttle to stay within its power limits, so extended rendering or compilation runs will run slower than short bursts. Buyers who need sustained high-frequency performance or discrete graphics should consider other form factors.

Questions about this item

Does the i5-6200U throttle under sustained load because of its thermal design?

The dual-core i5-6200U runs at a 2.30 GHz base frequency and can reach 2.80 GHz turbo; sustained workloads will trigger thermal management that reduces clocks to keep temperatures within limits.

How loud or hot does the E7470 get when running all day?

The 14.0" chassis uses integrated Intel HD Graphics 520 and a low-power CPU, so fan noise stays low during typical office tasks and surface temperatures remain comfortable for lap use.

What must I supply myself to make this laptop operational?

The system ships with no operating system installed, so you will need to provide your own Windows or Linux installation media and licence.
