Latitude E7470 14" FHD business laptop

The Dell Latitude E7470 is a 14.0-inch Full HD laptop built for professionals who need a portable Windows 10 Pro machine. It runs on an Intel Core i7-6650U dual-core processor with a base clock of 2.20 GHz and a turbo frequency of 3.40 GHz. The system includes 8GB of DDR4 memory and a new 2TB 2.5-inch SATA SSD for storage.

Sustained workload behaviour with Iris 540 graphics

Under continuous load the dual-core CPU can reach 3.40 GHz turbo speeds while the integrated Intel Iris Graphics 540 handles visual output on the 1920 x 1080 non-touch display. The 8GB DDR4 configuration uses two slots and supports a maximum of 16 GB if further memory is added later. Thermal management is designed for typical office applications rather than extended heavy compute tasks.

Practical limits of the SATA storage interface

The 2TB SSD connects via a 2.5-inch SATA interface, which caps sequential transfer rates below those of PCIe-based drives. This makes the laptop well suited for document handling, web browsing and light creative work, but less ideal for workflows that demand sustained high-bandwidth disk access. The 64-bit Windows 10 Pro installation boots from this SATA volume.

Questions about this item

How loud or hot does the i7-6650U get during all-day use?

The dual-core i7-6650U runs at 2.20 GHz base and 3.40 GHz turbo with Intel Iris Graphics 540, a combination Dell designed for typical office thermals in the 14.0" Latitude chassis.

Which cables or peripherals must I already have to start working?

The laptop ships with Windows 10 Pro 64-bit installed; you only need the AC adapter that matches the barrel jack and any USB-A devices you use daily.

Will my older SATA SSD or DDR4 module work inside this E7470?

Yes — the 2.5" SATA bay accepts your existing SATA drive, and the two DDR4 slots support up to 16 GB total, so an 8 GB stick you already own will fit.
