Dell Latitude E7470 14" HD laptop

The Dell Latitude E7470 is a 14.0 inch HD laptop with a 1366 x 768 non-touch display. It runs on an Intel Core i5-6300U dual-core processor with a base speed of 2.40 GHz and a turbo frequency of 3.00 GHz. The system includes 8GB of DDR4 memory and a new 1TB M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD. It ships with no operating system installed.

Suitable for office work and OS flexibility

This laptop suits buyers who want a compact business device to run their own choice of Windows or Linux. The 1TB NVMe drive provides substantial fast storage for applications and files. Buyers who need a touchscreen, a higher resolution panel, or discrete graphics should look at other models. The 8GB memory configuration also limits users who require 16GB or more for heavy multitasking.

No operating system included

The single specification that decides suitability is the absence of any pre-installed operating system. The buyer must acquire and install Windows or another OS before the laptop can be used. This makes the unit appropriate only for those prepared to handle OS installation and driver setup themselves.

Questions about this item

How loud or warm does the Latitude E7470 get when the i5-6300U runs at 3.00 GHz all day?

The dual-core processor reaches 3.00 GHz turbo and uses integrated Intel HD Graphics 520, so heat and fan noise stay modest during typical office workloads.

What must I supply myself because the laptop ships with no operating system?

You need to provide a Windows licence or alternative OS installation media, plus any drivers you prefer, before the machine is usable.

Can I keep using my existing DDR4 SO-DIMM sticks to reach the 16 GB maximum?

Yes, the board has two DDR4 slots and supports up to 16 GB total, so compatible modules you already own can be added alongside the installed 8 GB.
