Dell Latitude E7470 14 inch HD+ laptop

The Dell Latitude E7470 is a 14.0 inch HD+ laptop with a 1600 x 900 display. It runs on an Intel Core i7-6650U processor at 2.20 GHz with a 3.40 GHz turbo frequency. The dual-core CPU is paired with 16GB DDR4 memory and a new 240GB M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD. No operating system is installed.

Suited for portable productivity

This laptop suits professionals who need a compact 14 inch device for office applications, web browsing and legacy software that runs on 6th generation Intel architecture. The 16GB RAM ceiling and fixed dual-core design make it unsuitable for buyers who want more memory headroom or higher multi-threaded performance for modern creative workloads.

16GB DDR4 soldered limit

Memory tops out at 16GB DDR4 across two slots with no expansion beyond that figure. Buyers who anticipate needing more than 16GB for virtual machines, large datasets or future OS upgrades should look at a platform with a higher supported maximum.

Questions about this item

Does the i7-6650U dual-core processor hit its 3.40 GHz turbo ceiling quickly under sustained load?

The i7-6650U dual-core CPU runs at a 2.20 GHz base frequency and can reach a 3.40 GHz turbo frequency; sustained workloads will typically settle near the base speed once thermal limits are reached.

How loud or hot does the 14.0" Latitude E7470 get when running all day with the Intel Iris Graphics 540 active?

The 14.0" chassis uses integrated Intel Iris Graphics 540, so fan noise and surface temperature stay moderate during typical office tasks; heavier GPU loads will spin the fan higher but remain within business-class acoustic norms.

Since the laptop ships with no operating system, do I need a separate Windows licence and installation media before I can use it?

Yes, the unit arrives with no operating system installed, so you must provide your own Windows licence or alternative OS and create bootable installation media to set it up.
