Business travel laptop

The Dell Latitude E7470 combines a 14" HD display with an Intel Core i7-6600U dual-core processor running at 2.6GHz, 32GB DDR4 memory and a 256GB NVMe PCIe SSD. Windows 10 Home is pre-installed on a chassis built for frequent travel and client meetings. Integrated Intel HD Graphics 520 handles everyday visual tasks without a discrete card.

Connectivity for mobile work

Three USB 3.0 ports, HDMI and a mini DisplayPort let you attach peripherals, external monitors or projectors without dongles. Gigabit Ethernet and 802.11n wireless keep network access stable in hotels or offices. An SD card reader and integrated webcam complete the I/O set so the laptop works standalone or docked.

Sustained load behaviour

The efficient Skylake architecture and integrated graphics keep thermals manageable during long document, browser or video-call sessions. Fan noise stays low while the NVMe SSD maintains quick application launches over hours of use. Battery life benefits from the low-power CPU and absence of a discrete GPU, supporting full workdays away from a charger.

Questions about this item

Does the Intel Core i7-6600U throttle under sustained load because of the 14" chassis?

The dual-core 2.6 GHz processor with 4 MB L2 cache shares a thin 14.0" body, so prolonged heavy work will hit thermal limits before the 32 GB DDR4 or 256 GB NVMe SSD do.

How loud and hot does the E7470 get when it runs all day on AC power?

Integrated Intel HD Graphics 520 and the low-voltage CPU keep heat modest; the single fan stays quiet during typical office tasks but spins up noticeably during long video exports or heavy compiles.

What cables or adapters must I already own to connect an external monitor?

One full-size HDMI 1.4 port and one mini DisplayPort are built in, so have an HDMI cable or a mini DisplayPort-to-DisplayPort lead ready for a second screen.
