Business ultrabook with 14.0 inch display

The Dell Latitude E7470 is a compact ultrabook built around a dual-core Intel Core i5-6300U processor running at 2.40 GHz. It ships with Windows 10 Pro 64-bit, 8GB of DDR4 memory and a 256GB solid-state drive. Integrated Intel HD Graphics 520 handles everyday visual tasks on the 1366 x 768 non-touch screen.

Tested charger and fresh Windows load

A genuine Dell AC adapter that has passed testing is included so the system powers up immediately. The 256GB drive has been wiped and reloaded with an activated Windows 10 Pro digital licence, removing any previous user data. The 4-cell lithium-ion battery holds at least 75 percent of its original capacity after diagnostics.

Cosmetic wear and fixed memory

The chassis shows scratches and scuffs from prior use while all keys, ports and the webcam function correctly. Memory is not user-expandable beyond the installed 8GB. Buyers who need a higher-resolution panel, discrete graphics or a larger storage volume should consider other models.

Questions about this item

How long before the 4-cell lithium-ion battery needs replacing?

The battery has passed diagnostics and will hold at least 75% of its original capacity, so replacement timing depends on your daily discharge cycles.

What limits sustained performance first on the Intel Core i5-6300U?

The dual-core Skylake processor at 2.40 GHz with integrated Intel HD Graphics 520 will hit thermal throttling before the 8GB DDR4 memory becomes a bottleneck.

How loud and hot does the ultrabook get when running all day?

The 14.0-inch non-touch chassis uses a single fan; under continuous load the 4-cell battery and integrated graphics keep heat and noise moderate for an ultrabook.
