Compact business laptop with 2 TB storage

The Dell Latitude E7470 is a 14.0-inch Full HD laptop built around an Intel Core i5-6300U dual-core processor running at 2.40 GHz with a 3.00 GHz turbo frequency. It comes with 16 GB of DDR4 memory, the maximum the board supports, and a new 2 TB 2.5-inch SATA SSD. No operating system is installed.

Buyers needing an OS pre-loaded

This unit suits users who will supply their own Windows or Linux licence and who value the 1920 x 1080 non-touch display. It is not for anyone who expects an operating system out of the box, who requires touchscreen input, or who needs discrete graphics beyond the integrated Intel HD Graphics 520.

Maximum memory is fixed at 16 GB

The system has two memory slots but the firmware caps total DDR4 capacity at 16 GB, so no further RAM upgrade is possible. The 2 TB SATA SSD provides the primary storage expansion path within the 2.5-inch bay.

Questions about this item

How much heat and noise should I expect from the Core i5-6300U when the Latitude E7470 runs all day?

The dual-core i5-6300U operates at a 2.40 GHz base with a 3.00 GHz turbo, so sustained workloads keep thermals moderate and fan noise low for a 14.0" business chassis.

What do I need to supply myself before the Latitude E7470 can boot?

The laptop ships with no operating system, so you must provide a Windows or Linux installation media and licence to make it usable.

Will my existing 2.5" SATA drives work inside the Latitude E7470 alongside the installed 2TB SSD?

The storage spec lists a 2.5" SATA interface, so any compatible 2.5" SATA SSD or hard drive can be swapped or added if a second bay is available.
