Latitude E7470 14" FHD laptop

The Dell Latitude E7470 is a 14-inch Full HD business laptop powered by a dual-core Intel Core i7-6600U processor running at 2.60 GHz with a 3.40 GHz turbo frequency. It comes with 16 GB of DDR4 memory and a new 2 TB M.2 NVMe PCIe solid-state drive. The system ships without an operating system installed.

Buyers needing a ready-to-run Windows machine

This unit suits technicians and organisations that prefer to deploy their own licensed operating system image on a validated hardware platform. It is not suitable for buyers who need a laptop that works out of the box with a pre-installed OS, nor for users who require more than 16 GB of memory because the platform maximum is 16 GB.

16 GB DDR4 memory ceiling

The motherboard supports a maximum of 16 GB across two slots and this configuration already populates that limit. Any future upgrade would require replacing the existing modules rather than adding to them, so memory capacity is fixed at the shipped amount.

Questions about this item

How hot does the Core i7-6600U run when the laptop is under load all day?

The dual-core processor has a base speed of 2.60 GHz and a turbo of 3.40 GHz; sustained loads will warm the chassis but the 14.0" frame includes standard Latitude cooling for the 6th-generation U-series chip.

Do I need to supply my own operating system to use this laptop?

Yes — the unit ships with no operating system installed, so you must provide a Windows licence or alternative OS and install it yourself.

Can the Intel HD Graphics 520 drive an external 1920 x 1080 monitor alongside the built-in screen?

The integrated GPU supports the native 1920 x 1080 panel and can mirror or extend to an external display at the same resolution through the available video outputs.
