Built for mobile professionals

The Latitude E7470 is a 14.0 inch business laptop with a 1920 x 1080 non-touch display. It runs on an Intel Core i5-6300U dual-core processor with a 2.40 GHz base and 3.00 GHz turbo frequency. The system includes 16 GB of DDR4 memory and a new 2 TB M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD. Windows 10 Pro 64-bit comes pre-installed.

Suits travellers needing capacity

This configuration fits users who want a compact chassis with a large solid-state drive for local files and applications. The 16 GB memory ceiling is fixed at two slots, so buyers who need more RAM should look elsewhere. The integrated Intel HD Graphics 520 handles office work and video playback but not modern 3D workloads.

Deciding spec: 2 TB M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD

The single specification that decides fit is the new 2 TB NVMe drive. It delivers high-capacity, low-latency storage in the M.2 form factor. If your workload demands more than 16 GB of memory or discrete graphics, this unit will not meet those requirements.

Questions about this item

Does the 14.0" FHD 1920 x 1080 chassis use a standard M.2 2280 slot for the 2TB NVMe drive?

The 2TB M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD fits the factory M.2 slot; no caddy or adapter is required.

What is the correct order to seat the 16GB DDR4 modules so the i5-6300U recognises the full 16 GB?

Populate the lower slot first, then the upper slot; the system will not POST if only the upper slot is filled.

When will the soldered 16GB DDR4 limit future upgrades on this Latitude 7470?

The board maxes out at 16 GB, so no memory expansion is possible later.
