Ready-to-use business laptop

The Dell Latitude E7470 is a 14.0" HD laptop powered by an Intel Core i5-6300U processor running at 2.40 GHz with a turbo frequency of 3.00 GHz. It comes with 8GB of DDR4 memory and a new 500GB 2.5" SATA SSD. The system ships without an operating system so the buyer can install their preferred version of Windows or another OS.

Upgrade from slower storage or less memory

Replacing a traditional hard drive with the included 500GB SSD dramatically reduces boot and application load times compared to mechanical drives. The dual-core processor and 8GB of RAM handle typical office workloads and web browsing smoothly. The memory can be expanded to a maximum of 16 GB across two slots if multitasking demands grow.

Suits professionals needing a portable

This Latitude suits buyers who want a compact 1366 x 768 display, integrated Intel HD Graphics 520 and a lightweight chassis for daily productivity. It is not for users who require a touchscreen, discrete graphics for creative work or a pre-installed operating system. Buyers needing more internal storage than 500GB should look at larger-capacity configurations.

Questions about this item

What drive bay size does the 500GB SSD use in the Latitude E7470?

The SSD is a 2.5-inch SATA drive, so it fits the standard 2.5-inch internal bay.

Which screw or latch secures the bottom cover when upgrading memory on this E7470?

Remove the nine Phillips screws on the base, then pry the cover from the front edge; the memory slots are exposed immediately.

When will the 8GB DDR4 memory need to be expanded for heavier workloads?

The board supports up to 16GB across two slots, so adding a second 8GB module doubles capacity when 8GB becomes limiting.
