Business laptop for office work

The Dell Latitude E7470 is a 14.0 inch HD laptop powered by an Intel Core i7-6600U dual-core processor running at 2.60 GHz with a 3.40 GHz turbo frequency. It comes with 16GB DDR4 memory and a new 240GB 2.5 inch SATA SSD. The 1366 x 768 non-touch display uses Intel HD Graphics 520 and the unit ships with no operating system installed.

Straightforward memory and storage access

The 16GB DDR4 memory fills both available slots and reaches the 16 GB maximum supported capacity, so no further RAM upgrades are possible. The 240GB SSD uses a standard 2.5 inch SATA interface, making drive replacement simple with common tools. Buyers must acquire and install their own Windows or Linux operating system before the laptop can be used.

Suits writers, students and light office users

This configuration suits people who need a compact 14 inch chassis for document work, web browsing and video calls using the integrated webcam. It is not for buyers who want more storage than 240GB, users who need a touchscreen or higher resolution display, or anyone requiring discrete graphics for gaming or intensive creative applications.

Questions about this item

How can I confirm the Intel Core i7-6600U is running at its 3.40 GHz turbo frequency after setup?

Open Task Manager in Windows or run lscpu in Linux to view the live CPU clock speed; the processor should reach 3.40 GHz under load if thermal limits allow.

What components are included and what must I supply separately for the Latitude E7470?

The unit ships with the 14.0" HD display, Intel Core i7-6600U, 16GB DDR4, a NEW 240GB 2.5" SATA SSD, webcam and Bluetooth; you must provide your own operating system.

Which storage capacity should I choose if I need more than the 240GB SSD installed?

The laptop has one 2.5" SATA bay supporting up to 240GB with the included drive; for additional space you can add a second SATA SSD or use external USB storage.
