Built for mobile professionals

The Dell Latitude E7470 is a 14.0-inch laptop powered by an Intel Core i7-6600U dual-core processor running at 2.6 GHz. It comes with 8GB DDR4 memory, a 512GB NVMe PCIe SSD and a 1920 x 1080 FHD non-touch display. Windows 10 Pro is pre-installed.

Suits travellers needing legacy ports

This unit fits users who want a thin, durable chassis with HDMI, mini DisplayPort, gigabit Ethernet, three USB 3.0 ports and an SD card reader for presentations on the road. Buyers who need a touchscreen, a discrete GPU or newer Wi-Fi standards should look elsewhere, as this laptop lacks those features.

Deciding spec: 512GB NVMe PCIe SSD

The 512GB NVMe PCIe M.2 drive delivers fast boot and load times while keeping power draw low. If your workflow demands more than 512GB of internal storage or user-upgradeable RAM beyond 8GB, this configuration will not meet that need.

Questions about this item

Does the 14.0 inch Dell Latitude E7470 chassis accept a 2.5 inch drive or only the installed M.2 NVMe SSD?

The system ships with a 512 GB NVMe PCIe M.2 SSD and has no 2.5 inch bay, so storage expansion is limited to the single M.2 slot.

What is the correct way to reinstall Windows 10 Pro on this laptop and which step do people often miss?

Boot the Windows 10 Pro x64 installer from USB, choose the 512 GB NVMe drive, and remember to install the Intel Rapid Storage Technology driver first or the drive will not appear.

Which user-replaceable parts on the Dell Latitude E7470 will need attention after a few years of daily use?

The internal battery and the M.2 NVMe SSD are the main field-replaceable items; the 8 GB DDR4 memory is soldered and cannot be upgraded.
