Latitude E7470 for mobile professionals

The Dell Latitude E7470 is a 14.0-inch HD laptop built for mobile professionals who need a compact Windows 10 machine. Its Intel Core i7-6600U dual-core processor reaches 3.40 GHz turbo frequency for responsive everyday computing. The non-touch 1366 x 768 display keeps the chassis light for frequent travel. It ships new with the operating system already installed.

8GB DDR4 and 1TB NVMe headroom

The system includes 8GB of DDR4 memory across two slots, supporting up to 16 GB total for heavier multitasking. A new 1TB M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD provides ample space for local files and fast application launches. Integrated Intel HD Graphics 520 handles office suites and video playback but runs out of steam on modern 3D titles or GPU-accelerated rendering workloads.

Connectivity and expansion realities

Bluetooth and a built-in webcam cover conferencing needs without extra peripherals. The M.2 NVMe slot is occupied by the boot drive, so additional high-speed storage requires an external solution. Memory upgrades are possible through the second SODIMM slot, while the 64-bit Windows 10 Home environment runs legacy business software without compatibility layers.

Questions about this item

Will the 1TB NVMe PCIe SSD work as a boot drive alongside an older hard drive I keep in a USB caddy?

The 1TB M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD serves as the internal boot drive with Windows 10 Home 64-bit installed. An older drive in a USB caddy connects externally and appears as secondary storage after the system starts.

How do I confirm the Intel HD Graphics 520 is active after setup?

Open Device Manager and expand Display adapters; Intel HD Graphics 520 should be listed without error icons. The 1366 x 768 HD panel will show the native resolution in Display settings.

Does the box include a second DDR4 module to reach the 16 GB maximum or must I buy one separately?

The laptop ships with 8GB DDR4 installed across two total slots. A second module is not included and must be purchased separately to reach the 16 GB maximum supported capacity.
