14 inch FHD business laptop

The Dell Latitude E7470 is a 14.0 inch full HD laptop built around a dual-core Intel Core i7-6600U processor that reaches 3.40 GHz on turbo. It ships with 8 GB of DDR4 memory and a new 1 TB 2.5 inch SATA SSD. No operating system is included so the buyer must supply their own.

Suits mobile workers needing a light 14 inch chassis

This machine fits professionals who want a compact 1920 x 1080 display, integrated Intel HD Graphics 520 and a pre-installed 1 TB drive for immediate storage. Buyers who need more than 16 GB of RAM, a dedicated graphics processor or a touchscreen should look elsewhere.

Dual memory slots with 16 GB ceiling

Two SODIMM slots are available and the platform supports a maximum of 16 GB of DDR4. This limit decides whether the laptop can handle heavier multitasking workloads or must stay at the shipped 8 GB configuration.

Questions about this item

Which memory and storage combination suits this Latitude E7470?

The laptop ships with 8 GB DDR4 and a 1 TB 2.5" SATA SSD; the board has two slots and supports up to 16 GB total if you add another module.

What does the 3.40 GHz turbo mean for daily workloads?

The i7-6600U can boost its two cores to 3.40 GHz for short bursts, speeding single-thread tasks such as web browsing or document editing before thermal limits pull it back.

How does the SATA interface affect the 1 TB SSD?

The drive connects over SATA, so its maximum transfer rate is limited to the SATA bus speed rather than faster PCIe lanes.
