Dell Latitude E7470 14" HD Laptop

The Dell Latitude E7470 is a 14.0-inch HD laptop powered by an Intel Core i7-6600U dual-core processor running at 2.60 GHz with a turbo frequency of 3.40 GHz. It comes with 8GB of DDR4 memory and a new 2TB 2.5-inch SATA SSD. The unit ships with no operating system installed.

Suited for office workflows and legacy OS installs

This laptop suits users who need a 1366 x 768 display, integrated Intel HD Graphics 520 and up to 16 GB of total memory across two slots. It is not for buyers who require a touchscreen, a higher native resolution, a discrete GPU, more than 2TB of internal SATA storage or a pre-loaded operating system.

2TB 2.5-inch SATA SSD decides fit

The single specification that decides compatibility is the new 2TB 2.5-inch SATA SSD, which fixes the storage interface and physical form factor. Buyers must ensure their drive caddy and BIOS support this exact 2.5-inch SATA configuration before purchase.

Questions about this item

Will the 8 GB DDR4 memory need upgrading for heavier workloads?

The laptop has two memory slots and supports up to 16 GB DDR4, so you can add another module if 8 GB becomes a bottleneck.

What limits performance first during long, heavy workloads?

The dual-core i7-6600U with 3.40 GHz turbo will hit its thermal ceiling before the 2 TB SATA SSD or 8 GB RAM become the bottleneck.

How loud and hot does the E7470 get when running all day?

The 14.0" HD chassis uses a single fan; under sustained load the CPU clocks down to manage heat, so surface temperatures rise but fan noise stays moderate.
