Compact business laptop

The Dell Latitude E7480 is a 12.5 inch laptop built for mobile professionals who need a lightweight Windows 10 Pro machine. An Intel Core i5-7300U running at 2.60 GHz and 8 GB of memory handle everyday office workloads. A 256 GB solid-state drive provides fast boot times and space for essential files.

Build integration

The compact chassis fits easily into a small bag and leaves desk space free for external monitors or a docking station. Integrated graphics drive the built-in display and support a second screen without a discrete card. The included AC power cord and battery keep the system running away from a wall outlet.

Sustained operation

The low-power processor maintains steady performance during long document editing or video-call sessions without aggressive throttling. Passive cooling surfaces stay comfortable during typical office use. The 256 GB drive keeps read-write latency low when loading large spreadsheets or project folders.

Questions about this item

When does the Core i5-7300U throttle during continuous heavy workloads?

The processor reduces its clock speed once its thermal headroom is exhausted, which typically occurs after several minutes of sustained full-core utilisation.

How loud and hot does the 12.5" chassis get when the laptop runs all day?

Fan noise rises to an audible but not intrusive level and the keyboard deck warms noticeably, while the bottom surface becomes too warm for prolonged lap use.

Which peripherals and accounts must I already have to start working with Windows 10 Pro on this unit?

You need a Microsoft account or local credentials, a Wi-Fi network or Ethernet adapter for activation, and any external monitor, keyboard or mouse you prefer for desktop use.
