Built for harsh environments

The Latitude Rugged 14 5414 is a new 14.0-inch laptop designed to withstand extreme conditions. Its chassis uses specialised materials and has passed rigorous high-cycle testing. A 6th Gen Intel Core i7-6600U processor with 4MB cache and 3.40 GHz turbo frequency powers the system. Integrated Intel HD Graphics 520 handles visual output on the HD panel.

Touchscreen and connectivity expand field use

The 1366 x 768 display supports 10-point touch input that works even with protective gloves. Direct-view brightness allows readability in direct sunlight. Wireless options include 802.11ac Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, while wired ports cover three USB 3.0, one USB 2.0, HDMI, VGA, RJ-45 and an SD card reader. An internal DVD drive and webcam are also fitted.

Suits mobile workers in tough settings

This unit fits personnel who need a durable touchscreen device for outdoor or industrial sites. The 1TB SSD and 8 GB DDR4 memory provide local storage and multitasking capacity for standard business applications. Buyers who require a higher-resolution display or discrete graphics performance for intensive visual workloads should evaluate alternative configurations.

Questions about this item

Will the internal 6-cell and 9-cell battery packs eventually need replacement?

Yes, the internal 6-cell and 9-cell battery packs are consumable components that degrade over charge cycles and will require replacement when runtime drops below operational needs.

Which component hits its thermal limit first during sustained heavy workloads?

The Intel Core i7-6600U processor will throttle at its thermal ceiling before the Intel HD Graphics 520 or other components reach their limits.

How loud are the cooling fans and what is the surface temperature when running all day?

Cooling fans spin up under load to manage the i7-6600U heat output, producing audible airflow; the magnesium alloy chassis distributes warmth but remains within safe touch limits during extended operation.
