Questions about this item

How long does the i7-8650U hold its 4.2 GHz turbo before thermal limits cut it back?

The i7-8650U runs at a 1.9 GHz base and can reach 4.2 GHz turbo, but the rugged chassis and 5.5 lb weight mean sustained loads will throttle once the cooling saturates.

What fan noise and surface temperatures should I expect after hours of full-load work?

The 44.4 mm thick chassis and dedicated RX 540 GPU push heat into the magnesium frame; expect audible fan ramp and warm palm rests during all-day heavy use.

Which power adapter does the Latitude 5424 require to run and charge simultaneously?

The laptop uses a proprietary barrel connector labelled Power in; the matching Dell rugged AC adapter must be supplied for full performance while charging.
