Rugged 14″ Touch Laptop

The Dell Latitude Rugged Extreme 7424 is a 2019 mobile workstation built to MIL-STD standards with a 14.0 inch full-HD touchscreen, Intel Core i7-8650U quad-core processor reaching 4.20 GHz turbo, 16GB memory, 768GB solid-state storage split across two drives, and a discrete AMD Radeon RX 540 graphics card running Windows 10 Pro.

Field Workers Needing Durability

It suits personnel who operate in dust, vibration, extreme temperatures or wet conditions and value a glove-capable touch display plus optional first-responder LTE; buyers who need a lighter ultrabook for office travel, a larger screen for desk-based design, or greater graphics power for modern 3D workloads should consider other form factors.

Dual-Drive 768GB SSD Configuration

The defining specification is the combined 512GB plus 256GB solid-state arrangement, delivering 768GB total capacity with no mechanical hard drive, so the system boots fast and tolerates shock better than any single-drive alternative.

Questions about this item

How much heat and noise does the AMD Radeon RX 540 generate when the laptop runs all day?

The dedicated AMD Radeon RX 540 draws additional power under load, so sustained workloads will raise chassis temperature and fan speed above idle levels.

Which peripherals must I already own to use the USB 3.0 Type-C port for power and display?

You need a monitor or dock that accepts USB-C video input and can supply or pass through power over the same cable.

Will my older serial and VGA equipment connect directly to this unit?

The laptop includes a native serial port, and a VGA interface is available through the optional port configuration.
