45W USB-C Power Adapter

The DELL LX-45W is a new 45W USB-C AC adapter designed for Acer Chromebook models including Spin 311, 314, 514, 714, and CP311 series. It replaces a lost or damaged original charger for office, home, or travel use. The corded electric design delivers 20V output through a USB Type-C connector.

45W Output and 5V Auxiliary Rail

The adapter supplies 20V at 11.8A for the main 45W charging path and includes a 5V 2.25A rail for lower-voltage devices. It comfortably handles Chromebooks rated for 45W USB-C input. It will not meet the needs of systems that require 65W or higher power delivery over USB-C.

Short Circuit Protection Included

Built-in short circuit protection guards the adapter and connected device against fault conditions. This safety feature is the key specification that determines suitability for environments where power stability cannot be guaranteed. Buyers needing additional protections such as over-voltage or over-current safeguards should verify those separately.

Questions about this item

Will this 45W USB-C adapter charge my older Acer Chromebook 15 CB315-1H that uses a barrel connector?

No, this unit delivers power only through its USB-C output, so it cannot charge models that require a barrel-style DC jack.

How can I confirm the adapter is delivering the rated 20V output after I plug it in?

The charger negotiates 20V with the Chromebook; the device's battery indicator will show charging and the OS power detail screen will report 20V input.

Does the box include a detachable AC mains cord or only the fixed wall-plug unit?

The adapter has a built-in two-pin NA plug; no separate AC cord is included or required.
