  • Three buttons and scroll wheel for efficient navigation
  • Reliable wired PS/2 connection with no latency
  • Compact standard design fits any workstation
  • Tested compatible with Dell Wyse Zx0 Z90D7 thin clients

Wired PS/2 optical mouse

The Dell M042K0P is a wired optical mouse with a PS/2 connector and three buttons including a scroll wheel. It is built for basic pointer control on compatible Dell Wyse thin-client systems. The black finish matches standard enterprise peripherals. No software installation is required for operation.

Suited for PS/2 thin-client deployments

This mouse fits environments that still use PS/2 ports on Dell Wyse Zx0 or Z90D7 units. It is not for buyers who need USB connectivity, wireless freedom, additional programmable buttons, or higher-resolution sensors for detailed design work. Buyers without a PS/2 port on the host should look at a different interface.

PS/2 interface determines compatibility

The sole specification that decides fit is the PS/2 interface; the host must provide a native PS/2 mouse port or a verified active adapter. Optical tracking and the three-button layout are standard, but the connector type is the only factor that guarantees the device will communicate with the target system.

Questions about this item

Does the M042K0P mouse ship with a PS/2-to-USB adapter or must I buy one separately?

The M042K0P connects via a wired PS/2 interface only; no USB adapter is included in the box.

Which Dell Wyse models is the M042K0P confirmed to work with?

The mouse is listed as compatible with the Dell Wyse Zx0 and Z90D7 thin-client series.

How does the optical tracking perform on a typical office desk without a mouse pad?

The optical sensor tracks on most flat, non-reflective surfaces, so a standard desk top works without a separate pad.
