Questions about this item

Will the 80-pin Ultra320 SCSI connector on the N4715 fit the backplane of my PowerEdge 2650?

Yes, the 80-pin Ultra320 SCSI interface matches the hot-swap backplane used in the PowerEdge 2650, so the drive seats directly without an adapter.

How can I verify the 10000 RPM spindle is running correctly after installing the drive in a PowerEdge 2850?

Check the PERC controller BIOS or OpenManage; the drive should report 146 GB capacity, Ultra320 negotiated speed and a healthy SMART status with no reallocated sectors.
