Dell 7040 Micro business desktop

The Dell 7040 Micro is a refurbished business desktop built around an Intel Core i5-6500T quad-core processor running at 2.50 GHz with 6 MB L3 cache. It ships with 8 GB of memory and a 128 GB solid-state drive, plus Windows 10 Pro 64-bit pre-installed. Integrated Intel HD Graphics 530 drives one DisplayPort and one HDMI output.

Suited to office and light productivity users

This micro-form-factor system fits small workspaces and handles everyday business applications, web browsing and video playback. Buyers who need more storage capacity, discrete graphics performance, or additional memory slots for expansion should consider a larger chassis. The integrated graphics and modest storage limit suitability for creative workloads or modern gaming.

128 GB SSD storage capacity

The single 128 GB solid-state drive determines how much software and data can be stored locally before external or cloud storage becomes necessary. With Windows 10 Pro already installed, usable space is reduced further. Buyers planning large local file libraries or multiple virtual machines will need supplementary storage from the outset.

Questions about this item

How loud does the 7040-MICRO get when the i5-6500T runs all day?

The micro chassis uses a low-power quad-core processor and integrated HD 530 graphics, so fan noise stays low and case temperatures remain modest during extended use.

What display and peripherals must I already have to start working with the 7040-MICRO?

No monitor is included; you need a display with HDMI or DisplayPort input plus a USB keyboard and mouse — the front offers two USB 3.0 ports and the rear four more.

Will my older VGA-only monitor work with the 7040-MICRO's HD 530 graphics?

The system provides one HDMI and one DisplayPort output; a VGA monitor requires an active adapter, which is not supplied.
