Replacement lamp for NEC M420X projectors

This OEM replacement lamp module fits the NEC M420X projector and carries the NP17LP part number. It arrives as a fully assembled bulb and housing, so no separate assembly is required. The unit is intended for users who need a direct swap to restore brightness in a classroom, boardroom or home-theatre setting.

Simple module swap with standard precautions

Installation consists of removing the old lamp module and inserting the new one until it seats firmly; no tools beyond a screwdriver for the access panel are typically needed. Common issues arise when the projector is not powered down and cooled before the swap, when the lamp cover is not fully closed afterwards, or when the lamp-hour counter is not reset through the on-screen menu.

265 W UHP lamp with 3,000 to 3,500 hour ratings

The Osram UHP bulb draws 265 W and is rated for 3,000 hours in normal mode or 3,500 hours in economy mode. It comfortably handles daily presentations and extended viewing sessions within those limits. Heavy users running the projector continuously in normal mode will reach the rated lifespan sooner and should plan for a replacement cycle.

Questions about this item

How can I verify the NP17LP lamp is operating correctly after installation?

Check the projector menu for the lamp-hours counter resetting to zero and confirm the image reaches full brightness without flicker; the unit is rated for 3000 hours in normal mode and 3500 hours in economy mode.

What comes in the box with the NP17LP and what must I source separately?

The package contains the fully assembled 265W UHP bulb inside its housing, ready to fit; no extra cables, filters or tools are included.

Which NP17LP version should I pick — the OEM from the bulb maker, the NEC-sold OEM, the alternate OEM or the compatible?

All four versions meet ISO9001 quality checks; choose the direct OEM if you want the original bulb manufacturer, the NEC OEM for brand-matched supply, the alternate OEM for equivalent spec from another maker, or the compatible for a lower-cost option built with genuine OEM parts.
