What this product is

This is a new replacement projector lamp module compatible with NEC NP405J projectors. It arrives as a fully assembled NSH bulb inside its housing so it can be fitted without extra tools. The 180 watt lamp suits home cinema, classroom or meeting-room projectors that require the NP405J part number.

Installation and common issues

The module slides into the projector lamp bay and locks with the existing screws; no wiring or alignment of a bare bulb is needed. The most frequent issue is forgetting to reset the projector lamp-hour counter after fitting, which leaves the replacement warning active. Another common error is touching the glass envelope with bare fingers, which can shorten the lamp life.

Lamp life specification

Rated life is 4,000 hours in normal mode and 5,000 hours in economy mode. Buyers who need longer intervals between replacements should check whether their projector supports the economy setting. This lamp is not for users who require a higher-wattage or different-base module for another projector model.

Questions about this item

How can I confirm the NP405J lamp is working correctly after installation?

The projector should start without error messages, show a stable bright image, and the lamp-hour counter will begin tracking toward 4,000 hours in normal mode or 5,000 hours in economy mode.

What comes in the box and is anything else required?

The module includes the NSH 180W bulb fully assembled in its housing, so no extra parts or tools are needed for installation.

Which NP405J version should I choose among the OEM and compatible options?

All versions meet ISO 9001 standards; select the direct OEM bulb for original specification, the NEC-sold OEM for brand-matched supply, the alternate OEM for equivalent performance, or the compatible version for lower cost.
