Questions about this item

What is the maximum sustained write speed of the SATA DVD drive?

The drive uses a standard SATA interface, so its sustained write speed is limited by the DVD media rating rather than the bus.

How much noise and heat does the drive produce during all-day operation?

Optical drives run quietly at idle; during continuous burning the motor and laser generate a low hum and modest warmth that stays within normal laptop thermal limits.

Which laptop models must I already own for this YD7HD drive to fit and work?

It is a direct replacement for Dell Inspiron 17 models 3721, 3737, 5721 and 5737.
