Business desktop with Intel Core i5-2400

The Dell OptiPlex 390 DT is a desktop computer built for everyday office tasks. It runs on an Intel Core i5-2400 processor at 3.10GHz with 8GB DDR3 memory and a 256GB solid-state drive. Windows 10 Pro 64-bit comes pre-installed for immediate deployment.

Suits standard productivity; not for heavy workloads

This system handles document editing, email and web-based applications smoothly. Buyers who need more memory capacity, discrete graphics performance or additional internal storage bays should consider other configurations.

8GB DDR3 memory limits multitasking headroom

The installed 8GB DDR3 module supports typical business applications but restricts the number of programmes that can run simultaneously. Verify that this capacity matches your workload before purchase.

Questions about this item

How do I install more DDR3 memory in the OptiPlex 390 DT, and which step is most often missed?

Open the chassis, align the notch on each DDR3 module with the slot key, press firmly until the side clips click shut, then replace the cover; the step most often missed is pressing hard enough to engage both retention clips.

Which component in this OptiPlex 390 DT will need replacement first under normal office use?

The DVD±RW optical drive contains moving parts and a laser that degrade with repeated disc access, so it typically requires replacement before the solid-state drive or memory.

What performance limit appears first when the Core i5-2400 runs a sustained heavy workload?

The integrated Intel HD Graphics shares system memory and has no dedicated video RAM, so graphics-intensive tasks hit a memory-bandwidth ceiling before the processor reaches its thermal limit.
