Dell OptiPlex 5070 Micro desktop PC

This Dell OptiPlex 5070 Micro desktop PC is a compact business system built around an Intel Core i7 9700T eight-core processor running at 2.0 GHz with 12 MB L3 cache. It ships with 8GB DDR4 memory and a 1TB NVMe SSD. Integrated Intel UHD Graphics 630 drives two DisplayPort outputs. Windows 11 Pro is pre-installed for immediate deployment in office environments.

Installation and common issues

The micro form factor fits into tight spaces and includes an OEM AC adapter matched to the unit. Connect power, a DisplayPort monitor, and peripherals to the USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C port, three USB 3.1 Gen 2 ports, or two USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports. Note that the system lacks VGA, DVI, and HDMI ports, so older displays require an active adapter or converter cable. Gigabit Ethernet is provided for wired networking.

Sustained-load behaviour

The 64-bit eight-core CPU maintains its 2.0 GHz base frequency under continuous multi-threaded workloads thanks to the internal air-cooling solution. Integrated graphics share system memory, so extended 3D or video tasks may be limited by the 8GB DDR4 capacity. The NVMe SSD delivers consistent throughput for long file transfers and database operations without thermal throttling in typical office ambient temperatures.

Questions about this item

How can I verify the Intel Core i7 9700T is running at its 2.0 GHz base speed after setup?

Open Task Manager in Windows 11 Pro, select the Performance tab, and watch the CPU frequency settle at 2.0 GHz under light load; the 8-core, 12 MB cache processor should show all cores active.

What comes in the box and what must I source separately for this OptiPlex 5070 Micro?

The shipment includes the desktop and a matched AC adapter; you must supply a monitor, keyboard, mouse, and any DisplayPort or USB-C cables because no VGA, DVI or HDMI ports are present.

Which memory configuration suits the 8 GB DDR4 already installed in this unit?

The system ships with 8 GB of DDR4; add matching DDR4 modules to the available slots if you need more capacity, keeping the same generation for compatibility.
