Small-form-factor desktop with an eight-core i7-9700, 32 GB DDR4 and a 256 GB NVMe drive, ready for business use
The Dell OptiPlex 5070 is a small form factor desktop built around an Intel Core i7 9700 eight-core processor running at 3.0 GHz. It ships with 32 GB of DDR4 memory and a 256 GB NVMe PCIe M.2 solid-state drive. Windows 10 Pro is pre-installed and activated with a fresh, zero-bloatware image. The unit is supplied new with a power cord only; no monitor, keyboard or mouse is included.
The chassis provides one USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C port, five USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A ports and four USB 2.0 Type-A ports for peripherals. Video output is handled by two DisplayPort 1.2 connectors; there are no HDMI, VGA or DVI ports so older displays will require an adapter or active cable. A single Gigabit Ethernet jack handles wired networking, while audio is served by a universal audio jack and a dedicated line-out socket.
The processor delivers eight cores and eight threads with a 12 MB L3 cache and a 65 W thermal design. Integrated Intel UHD Graphics 630 drives the DisplayPort outputs for general business and home productivity tasks. Buyers who need discrete graphics performance or additional internal drive bays should consider a larger form factor system.
