OptiPlex 7000 Micro business desktop

The Dell OptiPlex 7000 Micro is a new tiny-form-factor desktop built for business users who need a compact Windows 11 Pro machine with 32 GB of DDR4 memory and a 2 TB SSD. An Intel Core i5-10500T six-core processor runs at 2.3 GHz base and reaches 3.8 GHz with Turbo Boost. Integrated graphics, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, keyboard and mouse are included.

Limits of the tiny chassis and integrated graphics

The micro chassis restricts internal expansion, so buyers who need discrete graphics cards or additional internal storage bays should look elsewhere. Integrated graphics share system memory and are suited to office productivity, not 3D rendering or gaming. Gigabit Ethernet tops out at 1000 Mbps, and the single included monitor output may limit multi-display setups.

32 GB DDR4 memory capacity decides fit

The 32 GB of DDR4 memory is the specification that determines whether this system meets a workload’s multitasking needs. It supports typical business applications and virtual machines, while heavier data-science or video-editing tasks may require more memory than this configuration provides.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 32 GB DDR4 model or look for a different capacity?

This unit ships with 32 GB of DDR4 memory already installed, so no additional capacity choice is required at purchase.

What does the 3.8 GHz turbo figure mean for everyday workloads?

The six-core i5-10500T runs at 2.3 GHz base and can reach 3.8 GHz on Turbo Boost when thermal headroom allows, giving short bursts of extra speed for office apps.

How fast is the wired network port on this Micro desktop?

The built-in LAN runs at 10/100/1000 Mbps, so the practical ceiling is 1000 Mbps on a Gigabit switch or router.
