Business tower with 18-core i7

The DELL OptiPlex 7010 is a business-class desktop tower built around an Intel Core i7-14700K processor with 18 cores and a turbo frequency of 5.6GHz. It ships with 32GB of DDR4 memory at 3200MHz and a 1TB NVMe solid-state drive. Windows 11 Pro is pre-installed and a DVD±R/RW optical drive is included.

Upgrade from older office PCs

This system replaces ageing desktops that still rely on spinning hard drives or processors with fewer than 18 cores. The jump is worth it when daily workloads involve large spreadsheets, multiple virtual machines or local compilation jobs that saturate older CPUs and slow memory. The 32GB DDR4 configuration handles heavy multitasking without paging, while the NVMe drive cuts boot and application launch times dramatically.

Suits IT fleets and power users

The tower suits organisations standardising on a managed Windows 11 Pro image with tool-less service access and up to 48 per cent recycled chassis content. Buyers who need discrete graphics for CAD rendering, more than 64GB of RAM, or a higher-wattage power supply for add-in cards should look at workstation-class chassis instead.

Questions about this item

Does the tower chassis need any tools to open for drive upgrades?

The chassis is tool-less, so the side panel releases without a screwdriver for drive or memory access.

How do I install the supplied wired keyboard and mouse?

Plug both USB connectors into any free USB port on the front or rear panel; Windows 11 Pro recognises them immediately.

What is the maximum memory this OptiPlex 7010 can accept?

The board supports up to 64GB of DDR4 3200MHz, so you can add another 32GB later if needed.
