Dell OptiPlex 7010 Mini Tower

The Dell OptiPlex 7010 Mini Tower is a desktop computer built for everyday office and home use. It runs on a 3rd Gen Intel Quad Core i5-3470 processor at 3.20 GHz with 16 GB of DDR3 RAM. Windows 10 Pro comes pre-installed. Buyers who need a newer processor architecture or dedicated graphics should look elsewhere.

Mini tower chassis with dual storage

The black and silver mini tower houses a 2.5" 256 GB solid state drive alongside a 1 TB hard drive for extra capacity. A DVD±RW drive handles optical media. Gigabit Ethernet, integrated Intel HD Graphics 4000, and USB keyboard and mouse connections cover standard peripherals. Builders who require tool-less drive bays or front-panel USB-C will not find them here.

Windows 10 Pro and included peripherals

The system ships with Windows 10 Professional 64-bit ready to use. A USB keyboard and mouse are bundled so the PC works straight out of the box. Integrated Intel HD Graphics 2500 supports up to three displays via available video outputs. Users who rely on proprietary management software or advanced vPro features will not have those capabilities.

Questions about this item

What does the Gigabit Ethernet port cap the wired network speed at?

The integrated Gigabit Ethernet controller limits wired throughput to 1 Gbps, so the desktop cannot exceed that ceiling on a local network.

What drive bays or slots are required to hold the 2.5" 256 GB SSD and the 1 TB hard drive?

The mini-tower chassis provides a 3.5" bay for the hard drive and a 2.5" bay for the SSD; both use the same data and power connectors already present inside.

How is the 16 GB DDR3 memory installed, and what slot mistake do buyers often make?

The 16 GB ships as two 8 GB DDR3 DIMMs in the two blue slots for dual-channel mode; placing them in mismatched slots drops the system to single-channel bandwidth.
