Ultracompact Desktop for Multi-Display Work

The OptiPlex 7040 Micro Tower is a new desktop computer built around a quad-core Intel Core i7-6700T processor running at 2.8 GHz. It ships with 8 GB of DDR4 memory, a 256 GB SSD and Windows 10 Pro installed. Wired keyboard and mouse are included so the system is ready for office deployment immediately.

Interface Limits for Display and Peripherals

Video output relies on integrated Intel HD Graphics delivered through a single HDMI port, which restricts native multi-monitor setups to one display without additional adapters. Six USB 3.0 ports provide high-speed connectivity for external drives and accessories. No media card reader or optical drive is fitted, so legacy media access requires external hardware.

Setup Checks Before Ordering

Verify that your monitors can accept HDMI input or that you have suitable active adapters for DisplayPort or VGA connections. The motherboard supports a maximum of 16 GB DDR4, so plan memory upgrades within that ceiling. Ensure your workspace can accommodate the Micro Tower form factor and that the integrated graphics performance meets the demands of your intended applications.
