Dell OptiPlex 7060 Micro i7-8700T

This compact business desktop uses a 6-core Intel i7-8700T processor running at 2.4 GHz with 12 MB cache. It ships with 16 GB DDR4 memory and a 512 GB NVMe SSD. Windows 10 Pro is pre-installed. The 65 W power adapter and integrated Intel UHD 630 graphics complete the package.

Suitable For And Not For

Suits office workers needing a space-saving PC for productivity apps, web browsing and video calls via Wi-Fi 802.11ac and Gigabit Ethernet. Not for buyers who need discrete graphics, additional internal drive bays, legacy VGA or DVI monitor connections, or an included monitor, keyboard and mouse.

Deciding Specification

The Micro form factor uses a 65 W external adapter and offers only low-profile expansion, so it cannot accept full-height add-in cards or a higher-wattage internal power supply.

Questions about this item

What is the 35 W TDP of the Core i7-8700T and how does it affect sustained performance?

The 35 W TDP limits the six-core processor to its 2.4 GHz base clock under continuous load, preventing higher turbo frequencies from being maintained for long periods.

How much fan noise and heat does the 65 W power supply produce during all-day operation?

The 65 W adapter and low-power CPU keep heat output modest; the small chassis fan runs quietly at idle and ramps up only during extended heavy workloads.

Which display cables or adapters do I need since the micro PC only has two DisplayPort outputs?

You must provide a DisplayPort cable or a DisplayPort-to-HDMI adapter for each monitor because the unit lacks HDMI, VGA and DVI ports.
